The short version

Laurel & Hound makes quiet,  dog-related, and stylish apparel and home accessories—seasonless pieces with calm wordmarks and manners built in. We design for people who prefer “polite on lead,” neutral palettes, and clothes that don’t shout.

How it started

Laurel & Hound began with a simple ritual: an early loop before everyone else woke up. Same street, same light, same soft pace. We noticed something odd—there were great tees for running fast and shirts for being seen, but nothing for the quiet, considerate walk we loved. No low-logo pieces. No small, respectful marks. No reminder that etiquette is part of style.

So we mocked up a single shirt that read DOG WALK UNIFORM—a wink to routine and a promise to keep our side of the sidewalk kind. Friends asked for one. Then their friends. The idea grew the way good habits do: steadily, without noise.

Why “Laurel & Hound”

Laurel is the classic symbol of honor and restraint—our north star for design: edited, earned, never loud.
Hound is the everyday companion—loyal, curious, and happiest on a calm lead. Together, they’re our ethos: quiet dignity, shared miles.

What we make

  • Minimal wordmarks & micro-crests you can wear every day.

  • Neutral, seasonless palettes that pair with whatever you already own.

  • Considerate placement & scale (left-chest, center, or sleeve) to keep the walk—not the logo—the hero.

The three rules we design by

  1. Polite on lead. Space for others, short lead at the tight spots, and greetings by invitation only.

  2. Low logo, high standards. Discreet graphics, clear typography, and quality that ages well.

  3. Uniform ≠ uniformity. Daily pieces that express restraint and make room for what matters.

Materials & production

We print to order in small runs to avoid waste and keep quality consistent. Soft cotton jerseys, clean lines, and inks chosen for crisp, one-color clarity. No shouting, no novelty for novelty’s sake.

The promise

We’ll keep the graphics quiet, the fit honest, and the message simple: walk with grace. If a piece doesn’t make the morning loop easier, it doesn’t ship.

A note from the studio

We still think in loops—eleven minutes, sunlight on brick, a soft pace beside us. Laurel & Hound exists to dress that moment well and leave the world a little calmer than we found it.
